U.S. Chemical Industry Workshop to Identify Research Collaborations: Funding Opportunities with DHS, NIH, NSF, DOE/NETL, DOE/BES and DOE/ITP
Guidelines for Presentations
Each participant will have the opportunity to deliver a 5-minute presentation on the specific research project or projects proposed for collaboration with others (no more than 5 minutes total - not 5 minutes per project). Time constraints will be strictly enforced and prohibit use of an overhead or LCD projector. Instead of slides, please prepare a one-page handout for each proposed project (maximum of five) according to the format shown in the box. Additional guidance appears below.
Topic Area of Break-Out Group (i.e., Fundamental science to impact biomedical research, Sensors for homeland Security, Materials science sensors, Specification fuels and chemicals from non-conventional hydrocarbon sources, Applied computational tools, CFD, integrated flow sheet, simulation of flow sheets, Materials for energy opportunities (ceramics, alloys, membranes, nanotubes, etc.), Catalysts and catalysis) Presenter (name, organization, and contact information) Priority # (if you are proposing more than one project)
|
Please bring 30 copies of your presentation handout. They will be distributed in your breakout group only. The rationale for asking you to summarize your project subject area in 15 words or less is that you will be asked to transcribe the summary in block print on 5"x8" index cards at the start of the workshop. To recap:
- one page per project-answer questions 1-7
- no more than 5 projects
- name and contact information on each page
- summarize subject area in 10-15 words
- number projects according to your priorities (1st priority to 5th priority)
- print 30 copies in portrait format and staple
- 5-minute time limit will be enforced
Thank you in advance for following these guidelines. They are intended to help the workshop go smoothly so all participants can focus more time on identifying and forming viable collaborations.
